The Stranger

A stranger was knocking at the door. As I peeped through the curtains I felt chills run throughout my body. Not only was a scared to see this man standing at my door that I did not know but I was home alone. I had to rely completely on myself. The dark that surrounded this man was the kind of dark you dare not walk into. My heart pounded because he just stood there and would not move. He knocked again only this time he put a lot more force behind it. I peeped again hoping I would catch a glimpse of his face but the dark was too black and the fog was too thick. One thing I did notice though was a knife hanging on his side covered with blood. This was so crazy, this only happened in the movies. I didn’t know what to do but try and escape.

I quickly went upstairs to my room and began to search for my keys. I then stopped because I heard a window crash. The stranger must have broken in downstairs. Not only was he in my house but he had his bloody knife as well. Beads of sweat formed on my forehead. I still couldn’t find my keys. I could hear footsteps coming up the stairs and getting closer each second. I was going to be trapped soon if I didn’t think quicker. Finally I found my keys and I ran out in the hallway where the stranger was. He had just gotten to the top of the stairs. He was at the edge just waiting for me. My mind and body felt like they were frozen. He slowly started walking towards me. He knew how scared I was and he was going through this long process to taunt me. I quickly ran in the bathroom unsure of what to do next. I then spotted the shower curtain rod. I ripped the curtain off and yanked it down. I ran out of the bathroom and I gripped the rod so tight hoping it would help me escape.

There he was standing a good foot in front of me. I used all my force and pushed him in the gut knocking him straight to the ground. Running down the stairs I prayed that I wouldn’t fall. I ran out the door and messed with the keys trying to get the correct one. It unlocked, I jumped in and started my car. Then all of a sudden the stranger was standing right in front of my car holding his knife up. This time I could see his face because my bright headlights shined right in his face. He had a gray stringy beard. His eyes gleamed with craziness and his smile was not the “Hi, I’m happy to see you smile”. He was crazy. Was killing teenage girls his hobby or something? Well I wasn’t going to let it happen to me. He wasn’t going to give up but neither was I. I floored the pedal and his body flung over my car hood onto the cold ground. I hoped he was dead. I drove off, without looking back. I had no idea where I was heading but hopefully it was to safety.

Cat Story

Being an alley cat I am use to many things. One thing I am not use to is water. I will never forget that unfortunate day some woman, who thought she had to do the world a favor, bathed me.

I was just walking down the alley a usual everyday thing. I was looking for the fish parts that the nearby fishery had to offer. I felt kind of unusual taking my same route today because I had this feeling of apprehension rushing inside me. I knew as sure as I was walking on the ground that something would happen. As I was walking toward my piece of fish that I had finally spotted, a young woman probably about twenty-five picked me up. I tried to tense my body up so she couldn’t get a hold of me as well. I tried clawing her with my well-trained claws but that did not seem to bother her. I finally gave up all hope. We got inside her car and drove for a short distance. As I was lying in the passenger seat I could tell that many other animals had been in this seat as well. We pulled into the drive and I thought this might be my chance to get away but today was not my lucky day. She hoarded me inside where I saw all kinds of other cats and dogs. Not one of them made a noise. They knew I was her new meat to torture.

We then went into the bathroom and she started to fill the tub up. She put some girly smelling bath bubbles in the tub; I knew in my mind this was going to be bad. I once again tried tensing my body but I was weak in her hands, it did no good. Her forceful hands pushed into the soapy water and scrubbed me clean. I fought dearly as if were losing my life. I then clawed her which she clearly did not appreciate because she let out a yelp and gave me a stern look with her bright blue eyes. Her eyes shortly lightened up because she was not the type to mad for long. It knew it did not matter, I was taking this bath and I could not get out of it. The phone suddenly rang and I still had soap all over me. She left me standing there in the tub with soap bubbles flying every where. I knew in my mind that this might be the time for me to make my get away. I jumped out of the tub and landed on the floor with my good balance. I then noticed she had left a small crack in the door so I squeezed my wet, soaked body through and made my way out. I walked until I saw an open window. I was getting ready to jump out until she stared chasing me. She ran chasing me but I was too witty for her. I run underneath the table for which she was to big to go under and then I made a long jump from couch to the window sill. I made my escape. I was actually dry by the time I got out the window from all that running around. I then went to my alley and found a nice place to take a nap. As I started to fall asleep I thought to myself that I should keep one eye open just in case. I am an alley cat, I do not take baths.

Shakespearean Sonnet

"Rainforest"

We went to the rainforest the other day
Going there brought us so much peace
The shades of green took our breath away
We hoped greatly this day would not cease
The birds were so colorful and unique
The monkeys were hanging freely in a  tree
For so many other creatures we did seek
This beautiful place, we wish all could see
The waterfalls fell with so much force
Truly a paradise, we love so greatly
Posionous beings made our heart race of course
Thankfully, we made it out safely
One of God's glorious places
Put big smiles on our faces

Autobio poems for my multi-genre paper

  • Mood:

Carlos-

Shy, laid-back, loving, and sensitive,

Married to Marie,

Lover of traveling, reading, and writing,

Who feels alive when seeing new places, joy when writing, and sad when seeing the bad                  parts of life,

Who needs Marie, friends, and family,

Who gives attention to everything important, love and affection to Marie and wonderful articles to the Nation Geographic for everyone to read,

Who fears losing what he values most, violence, violence, and losing his love,

Who would like to see new places in the world, more smiling people, and people make a difference,

Who lives all over, traveling from the outback of Australia to the exotic rainforests of South America and everywhere in between,

-Johnson

Marie-

Funny, wild, caring, and happy,

Married to Carlos,

Lover of traveling, photography, and being with people,

Who feels joy when seeing new cultures, alive when trying new things, and peaceful when reading a book,

Who needs Carlos, friends, and family,

Who gives much more than expected, love and affection to Carlos, and anything a try,

Who fears not be able to love life, spiders, and scary nightmares,

Who would like to see new places in the world, the end of starvation on the planet, and something blissful happen everyday,

Who lives all over, traveling from the outback of Australia to the exotic rainforests of South America and everywhere in between,

Contrast Poem "Two Countries, So Different"

In France-

Paris photos in black and white - Eiffel Tower

Sophisticated, stylish, fun,

Joyful thoughts,

Wonderful sights,

            Eiffel Tower,

            Mountains,

            Royal Forests,

-Lovely country.

In Ethiopia-

Starvation, sad faces, torn up

Low expectations,

Scary sights,

            Ribs of children,

            No shoes,

            No smiles,

-Unbearable country.

A Way of Life

  • Mood:

Travel all over the planet,

          the amazing sights are endless,

                        all different kinds of races,

                                    the cultures of different nations.

We feel alive and free

            as we explore new territory,

                        like riding a rollercoaster,

                                    a rush like no other.

Species of all sort catch our eye,

            roaming in the fields

                        swimming in the seas

                                    hanging in the trees.

Fortunate we are

            for many things we see,

                        all the opportunities,

                                    a lovely planet for all.

Our lives our different,

this we know, a way of life,

deeply enjoying it to the full.
